President

Doug has built an impressive career as a creative and results-oriented communications and branding strategist. He started his career in an entry-level position with the agency in 1990 and purchased the company with Cathy in 2000.

He employs his training as a journalist to delve into intricacies of a branding challenge, and applies reasoned and fresh thinking to find practical, focused solutions. He brings energy, humour and warmth to his relationships and is as effective in one-on-one interviews as he is leading a large group workshop. A seasoned and clever writer, Doug has a gift for making complicated matters accessible and relatable. He is also often sketching something ‘creative’ which our designers gently nurture into something spectacular.

Frequently seen volunteering or supporting a charity project, Doug adamantly believes every business has a responsibility to contribute to building a healthy and resilient community. Through his leadership, The Letter M has contributed thousands of hours to the Guelph community over 20 years.

Fun fact: Doug’s first business was an ice cream shop, The Big Scoop, which he operated in his home town of North Bay during the summer of 1983.
